Personal settings — name, photo, timezone, email

Personal settings is yours, whatever your role. Open your account menu (your picture or initials, top right) and choose "Personal settings". It opens where you are, as a window, and each choice saves as you make it. Its sections are Profile, Appearance, Notifications, Password and Assistants. Workspace settings, for owners and admins, is a different room (see "Workspace settings — where the workspace is run"). Profile comes first. Your name, photo and timezone are shown in every workspace you belong to. Name: what other people see beside your comments and messages. Leave it empty and your email address is shown instead. It saves when you leave the box. It cannot contain an @, and it cannot be a name that would steal someone else's @mention; if it would, you are told and asked for another. Photo: choose a picture and Profusia crops it to a square and shrinks it to 256 pixels in your browser, so a large photo is fine. PNG, JPEG and WebP work. Only signed-in people in the workspaces you belong to ever see it — never a share link, a portal or a read-only project link — and removing it deletes every stored copy. Without one, your initials are shown. Timezone: "Automatic" (your device's own) until you choose one. The clock times Profusia draws in your browser are then shown in that zone. It changes only what you see, never what anyone else sees. Email: your email is how you sign in, so changing it is careful on purpose. Choose Change, type the new address and your current password, and Profusia sends a confirmation link to the NEW address. It works once, lasts 24 hours, and nothing changes until you open it there; that is the proof the address is yours, and without it anyone could take over an account. The old address is told when you ask and again when it is done, with a link that undoes the change for seven days. When it completes, every other browser you were signed in on is signed out, and the old address cannot be claimed by anyone else for 30 days. The reply is the same for every address, so nobody can use it to find out who has an account. That needs email to work. Where this Profusia cannot send email, the Change button is replaced by one sentence saying so; there is no shortcut around the proof. If you sign in through your organisation's provider, your email and your password are managed there. Appearance is the light, dark or automatic choice for this device. Notifications holds your own switches (see "Notifications — the bell and what its number means"). Password changes it and signs out your other browsers. Assistants holds your "Take to AI" choice and points to where your other choices live.
